THE ROMAN CAMPAGNA IN THE PAINTINGS OF ALESSANDRO NESCI

In my works the Roman Campagna is a recurring theme. Much of my artistic research goes to find itself in the important moments of the History of Art, in Roman paintings by Camille Corot, in the works of Nino Costa, in the painting of XXV della Campagna Romana (F. Anivitti, R. Aureli, M. Barricelli, A. Battaglia, R. Bernardi, C. Bertolla, C. Biseo, M. Boglione, D. CambellottiO. Carlandi, A. Carosi, G. Carosi, L. Cecconi, G. Cellini, A. Cencetti, E. Coleman, F. Corelli, U. Coromaldi, G. Costantini, P. Fabri, C. Ferrari, E. Ferrari, G. B. Ferrari, G. Ferrari, P. Ferretti, E. Gioia, V. Grassi, G. Hinna, C. Innocenti, L. Laurenzi, C. Montani, A. Morani, A. Noci, E. Ortolani, N. Parisani, C. Pascarella, F. Petiti, L. Petrassi, G. Raggio, D. Ricci, C. Romagnoli, A. Rossi, G. Aristide Sartorio, A. M. Simonetti e V. Simonetti), the circle of artists dealt with the issues concerning the Roman countryside landscape.

In painting I am not only to discover the Natural Landscapes, because the Roman countryside is also History (the mythical places of ancient Rome), Architecture (Roman aqueducts, Roman villas, ruins, towers and medieval houses ...).
In several works such as "The complex of Roman aqueducts at Villa Vignacce" where I used a mixture of tonal painting, plus the influence of the painters of the Roman Campagna with the Italian painting of the first half of the twentieth century (Roman School, Giorgio Morandi).
In search of color over the years, the color mixtures are gradually cleared, the brush stroke becomes thinner and thinner, more and more forms just mentioned, almost as if the memory and the dream of landscapes of the Roman Campagna as flush on the boards that I use as a support.
